While it’s easy to get discouraged, it’s worth noting that making accessible websites isn’t hard and doesn’t take a huge amount of time. But that’s assuming it’s not treated as an afterthought, and that it’s not the responsibility of a single individual within an organisation.
I'm guilty of treating accessibility as an afterthought in many projects. It shouldn't be this way. It's up to us, as people building digital products, to teach ourselves and each other about the tools that exist which make our products usable by all people. That's the least we can do.
